Jean-Yves Pennec
The artist finds the base material for his objects and reliefs in form of cageots - wooden boxes and crates, used for transport and storing of fruits and vegetables. The printed wood is cut in small pieces and systematically composed in geometric patterns, resulting in mosaic pictures of luminous colors.
Jean-Yves Pennec: born 1958 in Quimper/Brittany. Studies of Philosophy (M.A.) Freelancing artist and periodic exhibition activity since 1190. Jean-Yves Pennec lives and works in Quimper, France.
